Establishing a Scientific platform for Documenting Sign Languages in Africa

This project is led by the National Museum of Ethnology in Japan and the National Institute of Informatics, in collaboration with the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa), with the goal of establishing a startup hub for the creation of a corpus of sign language research by local researchers at Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. The overall focus of the project is on the training of local researchers and the development of sign language documentation and preservation. It aims to train local communities who are interested in the documentation of their language and to equip them with methods for creating linguistic materials. All activities in this project are intended to contribute to the development of local researchers and young professionals.

በአፍሪካ ውስጥ የምልክት ቋንቋዎችን ለመሰነድ ሳይንሳዊ መድረክ ሰለማቋቋም

ይህ ፕሮጀክት የሚመራው በጃፓን በሚገኘው ናሽናል ኢቲኖሎጂ ሙዚየም እና የኢንፎርማቲክስ ብሔራዊ ኢንፎርማቲክስ ኢንስቲትዩት ከዊትዋተርስራንድ ዩኒቨርሲቲ (ደቡብ አፍሪካ) ዩኒቨርሲቲ ጋር በመተባበር፤ በኢትዮጵያ ከአዲስ አበባ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የአገር ውስጥ ተመራማሪዎች የምልክት ቋንቋ ጥናትና ምርምር ኮርፐስ ለመፍጠር የሚያስችል መነሻ ማዕከል ነው። የፕሮጀክቱ አጠቃላይ ትኩረት የሀገር ውስጥ ተመራማሪዎችን ማሰልጠን እና የምልክት ቋንቋዎችን መሰነድና መጠበቅ ላይ ነው፡፡ ዓላማው የቋንቋቸውን ሰነድ ለመጻፍ ፍላጎት ያላቸውን የአካባቢ ማህበረሰቦችን ለማሰልጠን እና የቋንቋ ቁሳቁሶችን ለመፍጠር ዘዴዎችን ለማስታጠቅ ነው። በዚህ ፕሮጀክት ውስጥ ያሉ ሁሉም ተግባራት የአገር ውስጥ ተመራማሪዎችን እና ወጣት ባለሙያዎችን ለማፍራት የታቀዱ ናቸው.

アフリカの手話言語に関する調査研究始動のための研究拠点形成

本事業は、日本の国立民族学博物館と国立情報学研究所が主導、ウィットウォーターズランド大学（南アフリカ）と協働し、エチオピアのアディスアベバ大学に現地研究者による手話言語研究のコーパス作成のスタートアップ拠点を形成することを目標とする。本事業その全体が現地研究者育成、および手話言語の記述および保存に関心をもつ現地の話者コミュニティに対する言語資料作成方法のトレーニングを主眼としており、その活動すべてが現地の研究者および若手育成につながっている。
